Just came back from a week in Croatia (not enough time) on a trip customized for us by Tour Croatia. Wow, what a wonderful experience. First, I don’t think Sara sleeps. She answers email and WhatsApp 24/7. Second, their attention to details was fantastic. Third, they had all the inside scoop on where/when/how. Sara literally answered all 345 of my questions patiently and with humor. One could not ask for a better travel partner than Tour Croatia. I’ve already recommended them to friends in the UK and the US. Do not hesitate to use them!

We opted for this holiday to explore Croatia rather than spend a week in one resort. Our first day we arrived In Split and stayed at Hotel Slavija which was wonderfully located right in the heart of the Diocletian Palace in the Old Town. The hotel was lovely and the photos on the website do not do it justice. The staff were very friendly and tourcroatia had left us a bottle of cava and chocolates in the room which was a nice touch.
The next day we had a guided tour arranged for us, the guide was amazing, very friendly and knowledgable. Split is gorgeous and I would definitely recommend a visit. We left in the late afternoon and caught the catamaran ferry to Hvar.
Hotel Pharos in Hvar was high on the hillside and had a fabulous view of the sea. It took around 30 mins to walk to the town but the walk along the sea front was very pleasant and there is a small beach about 5 mins walk away from the hotel.
Hvar is probably more suited to a younger crowd as it was quite noisy due to a concert that went on until 2am and had large groups of young people at the hotel. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very pop art and funky.
The next stop via catamaran was Korcula where we had been booked into Villa Tea for the night. The whole Villa overlooked the sea and we had a great view from the bed. Tea the owner was fantastic, so friendly and accommodating. She made us a traditional Croatian lunch which was nice as we were only booked in for bed and breakfast. The Villa was very cosy and felt more like a family home than a rented apartment.
A walk into the old town took around 20 mins and on the way we discovered a small beach where we had a swim. The town again was gorgeous, very quaint with narrow streets and lots to explore. Nice restaurants on the sea front with amazing views of the sunset.
The next morning our taxi did not arrive when arranged but Sara (tourcrotia) rang them and sorted it out for us. This was the only problem we encountered during the whole holiday as everything was organised perfectly by Sara. We had an itinerary with contact details in case of problems which was useful.
The last stop was the city of Dubrovnik where we stayed in Hotel Berkeley. This was near the harbour and we had to get a bus into the old town which takes around 15 mins. The buses stop right outside the hotel and are extremely easy to use. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
Dubrovnik is very busy with tourists and my advice would be to visit out of season as it is quite small. Sara had arranged a Game of Thrones tour for us which was fantastic as we are fans of the show. The guide was brilliant and was also an extra on the show so could give us insights into the actors.
Halfway through the tour just after visiting the steps of the infamous “shame walk” she disappeared for 5 mins and came back with replicas of the swords and shields used on the show. We were allowed to play with these whilst she took lots of photos for us. This was so much fun although I declined reenact the walk down the steps whilst she rang a bell shouting “shame” at me!
Not included in the itinerary was a walk round the city walls which is a must do! The walls are very high and you can see the entire old town, its narrow streets and rooftops. The walk takes a good few hours but there are plenty of watering holes along the way. Also a cable car ride takes you to the top of the hill with fantastic views of Dubrovnik, Montenegro and the mountains of Bosnia Herzegovina.
All in all this holiday was brilliant but exhausting! In retrospect I would probably only do 3 locations in the time we had, as we didn’t have time to fully explore them all but it was great to experience them.
Thank you tourcroatia for this wonderful holiday which was organised so beautifully and made us feel so special.

I want to say a huge thank you to Sara at Tour Croatia for organising our beautiful 5 night trip for my boyfriend and I. It was our first visit but won’t be our last. Thank you!! We had the best time. We were so impressed with the level of service we received. The pocket guide book and chocolate which arrived with our itinerary in the post. The prosecco and Croatian finest chocolates waiting for us in our room was a thoughtful touch and put a huge smile on our faces (especially the prosecco for my partner as I don’t drink but the chocolates? Yes please!) The complementary meal at Aubugio in Split on our last day was 5 star! Absolutely excellent and highly recommend this restaurant. We felt really spoilt and we loved it. These gestures made our holiday so much more. It was like going home.
Sara listened to everything we wanted from budget to locations etc and put together a perfect package for us. Nothing was too much and I am the kind of person who asks a lot of questions and am a bit of a control freak (especially with planning my holidays) but Sara was the most patient and kind and I fully trust her and her judgement with things.
So, we stayed in Split at the Villa Scalaria guest house which is at the start of the promenade and in front of the harbour, conveniently located to everything and just across the road to the steps going up to the Marjan forest. The hotel room was beautiful. They cleaned the room and replenished the shower gels and shampoo daily. It is of a great standard and the reception staff were just gorgeous. So helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.
Our itinerary: We did a day trip on our first day to Hvar (Stari Grad and Hvar town), we took the ferry to Stari Grad and then had a personal transfer to Hvar Town. The second day we took a guided tour to Dubrovnik, the 3rd we took another tour to Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 4th we went to Trogir and explored Split by day by ourselves. The tours and the transfers were organised by Tour Croatia and it was seamless. Every driver was on time. We were welcomed in the airport by a young man who was just so excited to tell us all about his country and things to do. The tours were fantastic and the views in each place were breathtaking. The colour of the water, the architecture, buildings and landscapes are images that will stay with me forever. I won’t give away many more details as I really believe you need to see it for yourselves.
If you are thinking to have a holiday in Croatia and don’t want the hassle of organising everything yourselves, I highly recommend Sara and her team. They know what they are talking about and what they are doing. They made our trip smooth and stress free. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced and I travel a lot!
